While it once flew at Mach 3, the last time the only remaining XB-70 Valkyrie Super Bomber flew, it was traveling at less than a foot. In early October, the National Museum of the US Air Force at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio, had to temporarily move the remaining North American XB-70 Valkyrie outside to preserve the display.

The museum's media staff recorded an exciting video of the spectacular aircraft as it was gently towed outside, while museum workers set up several displays in the museum's modern fourth building gallery, the Research and Development (R&D) gallery.

Mach 3 Bomber Valkyrie

North America's XB-70 Valkyrie was the most ambitious superbomber project of the Cold War, but it was plagued by problems until it was finally used as a research aircraft before being transferred to the National Museum of the US Air Force. February 1969. The massive six-engine bomber was originally on display outside, but was moved to an indoor gallery in October 2015 to be displayed in a new building in early 2016.

Mr. Rob Bardua, Public Affairs Liaison for the National Museum of the US Air Force, said: "The museum is in the process of redesigning several galleries in Building Four to create a more cohesive and open space for new temporary exhibits. , and more compelling exhibition stories As part of this redesign, the XB-70 was taken out to the edge of the ramp and brought back the same day - it was only out for a few hours and no preparation or maintenance was done.

This move obviously created a very rare and spectacular visual of the XB-70, and the museum's media team did a fantastic job capturing these videos showing the massive bomber being towed into the plane's bonus interior.

The National Museum of the United States Air Force at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, near Dayton, Ohio, is the world's largest military aviation museum, with more than 360 fascinating vehicles, aircraft and missiles, in addition to thousands of unique artifacts housed in a massive 19 Acres of indoor exhibition. The museum is free to enter and receives around one million visitors every year.

Conceived as a strategic nuclear bomber in the 1950s, the Valkyrie became a supersonic research aircraft in the 1960s.

The XB-70, with its six engines, unique stick, variable geometry wing and Mach 3 capability, was a sight to behold. Only one remains in the world today - and it can be seen at the National Museum of the US Air Force (NMUSAF) in Dayton, Ohio.

Boom was honored to welcome NMUSAF historian and curator Dr. Doug Lantry to a recent museum Monday Twitter chat about the XB-70. Joining us from the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Museum, Dr. Lantry shared his expertise on the history and legacy of the aircraft.

Xb 70 Valkyrie

A truly groundbreaking aircraft, the XB-70 laid the foundation for future supersonic aircraft programs and provided invaluable knowledge to aircraft design for decades. It is a personal favorite aircraft of many Boom employees and an engineering marvel of its time. Here's a look at the XB-70 from the museum floor with Dr. Lantry.

Boom was honored to welcome NMUSAF historian and curator Dr. Doug Lantry to a recent museum Monday Twitter chat about the XB-70.

The futuristic 500,000-pound XB-70A was originally conceived in the 1950s as a high-altitude, nuclear-powered strike bomber that could fly at Mach 3 (three times the speed of sound). Any potential enemy would not be able to defend against such a bomber. Traveling 70,000 feet above the ground, the developers believed it would be immune to interceptor aircraft.

But in the early 1960s, new surface-to-air missiles (SAMs) threatened the survival of high-speed, high-altitude bombers. Inexpensive, nuclear-armed intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) also entered service. As a result, in 1961, the XB-70 bomber program was canceled before any Valkyries were completed or flown.

But many investments had already been made. The US Air Force still wanted to explore high-speed flight, and NASA was interested in its fledgling SST (Supersonic Transport) program. After some planning and funding, the aircraft manufacturer North American built two test aircraft: XB-70A and XB-70B.

There is only one XB-70 left in the world today - and it can be seen at the National Museum of the US Air Force (NMUSAF) in Dayton, Ohio.

Talent and perseverance. Designed without the kind of "supercomputer" modeling that today's engineers rely on, the XB-70 is the result of people.

The XB-70's six General Electric YJ-93-GE-3 engines are turbojet. Each developed up to 30,000 pounds of thrust and were axial flow engines, meaning the air flow was parallel to the rotating axis in the center of the engine. Engines compress air, mix it with fuel, and then ignite the high-pressure mixture to create thrust. Afterburner adds even more power to the hot exhaust gases by adding more fuel.

North American built only two XB-70s. The first XB-70 is on display at NMUSAF. The second was lost in an accident in June 1966 during a flight in which several planes were photographed in formation.

In the XB-70, the pressure lift behind the supersonic shock wave—what engineers call "compression lift"—is an important feature. The front of the plane creates a shock wave, which in turn creates a pressure on the front of the engine intake manifold and under the wing on the underside of the plane.

There is no similar "counter" to the pressure behind the shock wave at the top of the plane. result? The pressure below the jet is greater than above, which means a 30% increase in lift at supersonic speeds.

Xb 70 Valkyrie Bomber

Another key aspect of the XB-70's aerodynamics is the variable geometry wing. Take a look and hear how they worked at high and low speed with Dr. Lantry.

How did such a massive plane get off the ground? Dr. Lantry explains more about the XB-70's compression lift.

The National Museum of the US Air Force is the only place in the world where you can see an XB-70, because only one survives. It arrived at the museum on February 4, 1969 and is currently on display.

The NMUSAF's XB-70s didn't land anywhere but Edwards Air Force Base in California and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio. Another XB-70 that was destroyed once visited Carswell Air Force Base in Texas for an air show in 1966.

X-61a Gremlin Drone - The US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) first captured an X-61 Gremlins unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in October using a mechanical arm and a towing "bullet" deployed from the cargo ramp of a Lockheed Martin C. 130.

The experimental drone's successful recovery follows a series of crashed and failed attempts during three test events since late 2019. DARPA used two Dynetics X-61 drones during recent flight tests, one of which was destroyed by a electrical system failure. he said on November 5.

X-61a Gremlin Drone

X-61a Gremlin Drone

Flight tests at Utah's Dugway Proving Ground confirmed all autonomous flight positions and safety features of the X-61 system, DARPA said.

Dynetics' X 61a Gremlins Air Vehicle Completes First Flight

"This recovery was the culmination of years of hard work and demonstrates the possibility of safe and reliable aerial recovery," said Lt. Col. Paul Calhoun, Gremlin program manager in DARPA's Tactical Technologies Office. "Such a capability is likely to be critical to future distributed air operations."

Four flights were conducted in October to gather data on aircraft performance, aerodynamic interactions between the recovery pod and the drone and contact dynamics with the drone during recovery, the agency said.

As part of the final experiment, DARPA received and then repaired the X-61 and conducted a second flight within "24 operational hours". The repaired drone was found on the ground.

Five examples of the X-61 experimental drone were built as part of the Gremlins program. The X-61 was also destroyed when its parachute failed to deploy during its first test flight in 2019.

Paramount Adds Anti Uav Capabilities To Mwari

"Air recovery is complicated," says Calhoun. "We will take some time to enjoy the success of this deployment and then get back to work to further analyze the data and determine the next steps for Gremlins technology."

DARPA is looking at aerial launch and recovery as a way to extend drone reach and reuse drones that would otherwise be difficult to recover.

Also, by forgoing features necessary for takeoff and runway recovery, such as landing gear, these types of aircraft can be lighter in weight and less expensive. The U.S. Air Force called the type "sharp," meaning drones that are cheap enough to be lost in combat attrition and then cheaply replaced.

X-61a Gremlin Drone

"Gremlin's expected life of around 20 years could provide significant cost advantages over expendable systems, reducing aircraft load and costs and having lower mission and maintenance costs than conventional platforms designed to operate for decades," DARPA said.

Coming To A Battlefield Near You: Swarms Of Killer Drones

"They can also be launched from various types of military aircraft, keeping protected platforms safely out of range of adversary defenses," DARPA adds.

After the successful restoration demonstration, the research agency says it is considering next steps for the Gremlins program. The X-61 stems from the DARPA Gremlins program to demonstrate a renewable, low-cost drone with digital flight controls and navigation systems. It is designed to be recovered in mid-air by a modified transport aircraft after its mission.

Dynetics was one of four companies awarded a Phase I contract for the program in 2016, and was the winner of the Phase III contract in April 2018.

The X-61A is powered by a Williams F107 turbofan and can carry a variety of payloads, including electro-optical equipment, infrared imaging, electronic warfare systems and weapons.

Darpa Carries Out Tests On Its Flying Aircraft Carriers

The drone is semi-autonomous, allowing a controller either on the mothership or on the ground to control up to eight X-61As simultaneously.

On July 5, 2019, an earthquake near China Lake damaged the X-61A's first test equipment, delaying the program.

The first captive flight of the X-61A on a Lockheed C-130A Hercules was in November 2019.

X-61a Gremlin Drone

The first free flight of the X-61A took place on January 17, 2020. The takeoff was successful, but during the recovery the main parachute did not deploy and the aircraft was lost.

C 130 Successfully Snatches Gremlins Drone In Midair

In August 2020, the company announced that they had completed a second test flight, this time successfully recovering the aircraft by parachute. The flight lasted more than two hours and included a makeover and formation flight with the C-130 mother ship.

In October 2021, DARPA announced that a specially equipped C-130 Hercules cargo plane had successfully launched the X-61A. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency announced that a number of X-61A Gremlins drones failed to connect in flight. in recent tests with the recovery system on a C-130 Hercules cargo plane, but they came close to success several times. The agency and its partners are already working on another round of capture efforts next year.

Air recovery tests, part of the third phase of the Gremlin program, began at the US Army's Dugway Proving Ground in Utah on October 28, 2020, according to a press release from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). The broad goal of the Gremlin effort, which began in 2015, was to demonstrate the ability to cheaply launch and recover a fleet of cruise missile-like drones.

A team led by defense contractor Dynetics, now a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, and also including drone maker Kratos, developed the X-61A drone and recovery system, which uses a probe-like concept. and air fuel supply system. You can see how the system is supposed to work in the video below, which includes an earlier flight test video where the drone was attached to the recovery system the entire time.

Darpa Is Exploring Ways To Wirelessly Charge Drone Swarms

DARPA said the three Gremlins drones made a total of nine attempts to connect to the recovery system during recent flight tests. Because they are not designed to land on their own, after running out of fuel, each of the drones deployed a parachute and landed safely on the ground, where the crew could retrieve them for repair and reuse. A failure of that parachute recovery system led to the loss of the Gremlin drone on its first flight last year.

"Each X-61A Gremlins aerial vehicle (GAV) flew for more than two hours, successfully validating the flight positions and safety features of all autonomous formations," DARPA said in a press release. "Hourly data were collected over three flights, including aerodynamic interactions between the docking cartridge and the GAV."

"All of our systems looked good in ground testing, but flight testing is where you really find out how things work," Scott Wierzbanowski, Gremlins program manager for DARPA's Tactical Technology Office, said in a statement. "We were in contact with every effort, but ultimately it was not close enough to engage the recovery system."

X-61a Gremlin Drone

A DARPA press release said "the relative motion was more dynamic than expected" between the dock lead and the drones, and that this was at the root of the failed recovery efforts. This was something that we at Warzone had highlighted as an area of potential difficulty for the Gremlin concept in the past, given what was already known how difficult it could be for manned aircraft to use probe fuel and drug. method of charging. At the same time, even then, considerable work was done to stabilize the cargo ships behind the tankers. There have been numerous drone tethering demonstrations linking manned tank refueling and drones using this method.

Rapid Dragon (missile System)

"We've made great strides in learning and responding to technological challenges between each of the test flights to date," said Wierzbanowski, Gremlin's program manager. “We were so close this time that I'm sure there will be some aerial recoveries on the next deployment. However, as with all flight testing, there are always uncertainties and real-world challenges to overcome.”

Another round of flight tests is already scheduled to take place at Dugway in the spring of 2021. DARPA's ongoing goal is to eventually demonstrate the ability to recover four X-61As in the air within 30 minutes.

A successful demonstration of the Gremlin concept could pave the way for exciting new operational opportunities for the US military. Groups of low-cost drones operating autonomously or semi-autonomously, networked together, can perform multiple missions. The drones can carry a variety of payloads, including various types of sensor packages, electronic warfare systems, or even small warheads, giving the whole array added flexibility. Dreams by their very nature present significant challenges to defenders, who can easily become overwhelmed and unable to prioritize their response when faced with a large number of threats approaching simultaneously from multiple vectors.

Darpa Gremlins Test Shows How Us Planes Can Be Drone Mothership

The aircraft's ability to launch and recover any drones that are not destroyed or otherwise expended during a mission for reuse will help keep the cost of deploying these flocks low in the future. It can also reduce the time needed for another attack if the drone can be easily serviced and ready to fly back into the field. You can read much more about the potential benefits

X-47b Top Speed - EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif., March 17, 2011 - Less than a month after the first flight of the US Navy's X-47B UCAS demonstration, Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) engineers began testing the aircraft and the Army successfully completed it. the second and third flights of the plane.

During the X-47B's second 39-minute flight on March 1, the aircraft flew at an altitude of 7,500 feet at speeds of up to 200 knots. On its third 41-minute flight on March 4, the aircraft reached an altitude of 7,500 feet and a top speed of 180 knots. In comparison, the X-47B only flew to 5,000 feet at a top speed of 180 knots on its first flight on February 4.

"Completing two flights of the new type of aircraft within one week, and one month of the first flight, is not only a testament to the strong design of the X-47B aircraft, but also to the dedication and skill of the construction team of the UCAS-D flight test team," he said. Janis Pamiljans, Vice President of the Navy UCAS program for Northrop Grumman's Air Systems Sector. "These aircraft continue the group's march to demonstrate in 2013 that we can successfully operate tailless, low-visibility aircraft on a Navy carrier."

The Uav Revolution: Ge Aviation Positions Itself For The Future Of Flying Machines

According to Phil Saunders, chief engineer of Northrop Grumman's Navy UCAS program, the expansion of the envelope is designed to demonstrate the aircraft's flight characteristics and demonstrate that it matches the system's performance and the test team's predictions.

"In the next few flights, we will continue to push the envelope in terms of aircraft speed, altitude and weight," he said. "By gradually increasing the required complexity, we will systematically demonstrate that the aircraft can take off, fly and land safely in all expected environments."

Northrop Grumman and the Navy hope to complete the program to add 49 aircraft envelopes at Edwards Air Force Base before transferring the first X-47B to Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland, later this year, he added.

One of the most important aspects of success, Saunders explains, is the stability of the aircraft. The X-47B, which relies on high-speed computers to control its flight position, must be able to quickly and spontaneously adapt to environmental conditions, such as air turbulence or crosswinds. Recent test flights have included several methods to test the aircraft's ability to operate in such conditions.

U.s. Navy's X 47b 'stealth Drone' Launches From An Aircraft Carrier For The First Time

Flight tests also confirmed that the X-47B's flight control system, which admits to not being visually appealing, can sense and communicate the aircraft's speed, which is critical for takeoff and landing.

In addition, the flight test gave the team the opportunity to verify the performance of the aircraft's engine; its command and control system and its ability to fly continuously during attack and descend continuously during final approach, simulating what it would take to successfully land on an aircraft carrier.

The Navy awarded the UCAS-D major contract to Northrop Grumman in August 2007. The six-year contract calls for the development of two X-47B fighter jets. The program will demonstrate the first launch and recovery of the carrier and unmanned tailless aircraft. Autonomous air refueling will also be performed after the carrier's integration and sea trials.

The U.S. military did not participate in the UCAS effort until 2000, when it awarded contracts worth $2 million each to Boeing and Northrop Grumman for a 15-month research program.

Concepts for marine UCAVs include combating saltwater corrosive environments, operating in stages during launch and recovery, integrated command and control, and operating in aircraft-disrupting electrode locations. The Navy was interested in using UCAVs to reconnoitre, enter protected airspace, and identify targets for follow-up.

The J-UCAS program was closed in February 2006 following the Quadrnial Defense Review. The US Air Force and Navy continued their UAV programs. The Navy has selected Northrop Grumman's X-47B as its Unmanned Combat Air System (UCAS-D) program.

On November 26, 2012, the X-47B began testing aboard USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75) at Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia.

On 18 December 2012, the X-47B completed its first phase of sea trials; it was noted for its "excellent" performance as it proved to be compatible with aircraft carrier airfields, airfields and communications systems. After the ship's testing was completed, the X-47B returned to NAS Patuxt River for further testing.

On May 4, 2013, he safely landed on a cargo ship on the Patuxt River.

Super Drone Lands On Aircraft Carrier

On July 15, 2013, the second X-47B, designated 501, was forced to cancel another scheduled landing at the George H.W. Bush due to technical difficulties.

Officials said the program only required one sea landing, although the testers only wanted three, and two of the four made it.

The Air Force subsequently sent the X-47B to aircraft carriers in three additional test phases between 2013 and 2015 to demonstrate that the unmanned aircraft could work effectively with the 70-aircraft carrier wing.

On September 18, 2013, the X-47B completed its 100th flight for the UCAS-D program. The program's objectives were completed in July, which included 16 precision maneuvers for the aircraft, including five performance tests, nine landings, two landings, and three takeoffs.

glock 43x striker

glock 43x striker

Glock 43x Striker - There is a lot of talk out there about an accessory for Glock pistols called the Trigger Control Device. It seems like when this product comes online, some people want to whip out their pitchforks and start a riot. I would like to think that this is the result of a simple misunderstanding. So, before we look at the actual product, let's talk about why it even exists to begin with.

Hear more in the video below, or scroll down to read the article featuring "Glock Gadget."

Glock 43x Striker

Glock 43x Striker

[NOTE: Some of the technical information on today's page may not make sense if you're just reading the text, but if you skip to 5:14 and watch 6:18 in the video, you'll see a demonstration. . that should explain it.]

Stainless Steel Polished Striker Fits All Glock Gen 1 4

Before Glock guns became popular in the 1980s and 1990s, almost all semi-automatics were single-action with a safety or double-action/single-action with a safety or decocker or both. Glocks have none of those things. They are fired with a trigger, mag release, and slide stop.

Today, Glocks and other handguns that are fired by snipers are the norm rather than the opposite. Shooters appreciate the ease of use of a gun with limited controls. It is easy to learn and some would say easy to master.

Of course, that simplicity has its downsides. You have a light trigger with a short travel length and no external protection. This means that there are fewer failures to prevent an accidental discharge if the shooter has trouble holding the gun properly. And let's face it: no matter how well trained we are, we all make mistakes. I don't know any shooter who can honestly say that they always have a perfect shot. It's rare to find a shooter who can honestly say his finger hasn't slipped on the trigger when it shouldn't.

That's why, along with the four basic gun safety rules that everyone learns, there are some good tips that the training community teaches. In particular, there are some techniques we can use to re-handle the gun, which is often the most common gun handling error.

Slide Optic Milling Service For Glock 42/43/43x/48

Before moving the gun to the holster, take a moment to make sure the index finger is placed on the slide or frame and away from the trigger. Remove the holster if necessary, and check to make sure the holster is free of obstructions. Stand or lean in such a way that the muzzle does not cover the lower body when the gun is holstered. Then, slowly and deliberately, hold the gun again.

These are some of the best practices to help reduce the risk of accidental discharge. There are some people (like me) who are not satisfied with this. When you have distractions happening in front of you, whether it's a series or the real world, people tend to skip some or all of the steps when moving again. So there is one more thing you can do depending on the type of gun you have. With a double-action hammer, you can depress the hammer with your thumb. That way, it is impossible for the gun to go off, even if there is a finger on the trigger, or a string or a piece of a shirt tail hanging from the trigger.

I really like this game. After doing it for a while, it quickly gets into your muscle memory. In the end, it's what you do. It may take some mental effort to hold the gun without the thumb on the hammer. So, even if something crazy is going down and you end up doing something stupid to check speed, or maybe it's dark and you can't see clearly inside your holster, hitting the hammer unconsciously helps prevent accidents. release

Glock 43x Striker

Unfortunately, you don't have that option with a shotgun because it doesn't have a hammer. That's why a couple of very smart guys from the Tau Dev Group developed the Attacker Control Device. You may know it as "Device."

Striker Glock 9/40 Ds (holiday)

This is a small part of Glock pistols that inserts the slide plate into the rear of the slide. If you shoot the gun regularly, it doesn't change anything about how the Glock works; and a slide cover that tilts outward when you press the trigger. But if you put pressure on the back of the slide, it stops the movement behind the striker and the trigger. In that case, it's like a hammer on a double-action shotgun. If you hit the back of the slide with your thumb while holding it back, the gun will not fire.

As I mentioned at the beginning, for some reason, the Striker Control Device seems to have generated a lot of anger and controversy. I don't know why exactly. It is not necessary to upgrade. It is the only option for people who want to take advantage of the increased security. Some people may be concerned that it will affect the sensation of the trigger or that it will cause labor.

I've never had a problem with what I've used. But more importantly, I know many dedicated Glock shooters who have put tens of thousands of rounds through Glocks with rifle control devices installed. Some of them were beta testers who have been using these products for the past five years or more. I don't know of any Glock that has major problems because of it. I'm sure it's possible, but I think most of the concerns about reliability are speculative. It would help to reduce the doubts of some people if they had a better understanding of how this device works.

It's a very simple concept. First, let's take a look at how a standard Glock works with all the factory parts. This is a list of shooting pins. The trigger/firing pin has some problems when it is on the slide. Then, when you press the trigger, the handle/knob continues to move back. When the press is complete, the spring sends the firing pin forward. I'm going to put this back on the slide and put the factory slide cover back on...

Slimline Pistols Under Test: Glock 43x And 48

The firing pin moves back and forth along this path in the slide and the slide cover acts as a catch for everything.

Lower Glock slide with fixed trigger plate. The firing pin/trigger (the silver part near the back of the slide) moves in a way when you pull the trigger.

Now here is the slide with the shooters control gear. It is a slide cover with a small piece that extends into the firing mechanism. So now, if you fire the gun properly, the firing pin pushes the piece out of the way. There is no spring in the batter control device. It moves freely and doesn't add any friction that can affect stimulation. But if we apply pressure on the Firing Control Device itself, it will stop the firing pin from moving forward.

Glock 43x Striker

When you install the Striker Control Device in place of the fixed slide plate, the movement of the firing pin causes the trapdoor-like part of the SCD to pop out from behind the slide. (In the picture above, the movement is done by hand using a Glock disassembly tool)

Ltt Striker Control Device (scd) For Glock

So there's not much to it. I can see how the trigger would make a bit of a trigger if you dropped the gun in a muddy puddle or something. It's not much of a world concern for most of us.

Many of our readers who know that I am a fan of DA/SA pistols have asked me about the options in a single 9mm group or pistol bag. Unfortunately, there are very few to choose from. I think the best thing would be a Glock 42 or 43 or some other small Glock with a Striker Control Device.

Unfortunately, due to the way most shotguns are designed, it doesn't look like we'll be seeing similar Smith & Wesson M&P or Sig P320 or other shotguns anytime soon. But they are available for any Gen 2 through Gen 5 Glock. You can find them on the Tau Dev Group website. Regular price is $89 but it looks like it's on sale right now for $79. I think it's worth it, and I don't see any reason to carry a Glock without one.

glock 43x suppressor

Glock 43x Suppressor - In what might be the best-kept secret this holiday season, filled with drama in artist renderings and speculative features, TFB is ready to debut the real thing. GLOCK has released two new Slimline pistols – the GLOCK 43X and a longer slide GLOCK 48 – aimed at the everyday carry market. Obviously, both guns are focused on narrow frames and slides, which are easier to carry concealed compared to a compact or full-sized piece. But what else do these new handguns offer over GLOCK's current subcompact models that will convert those shooters who are already comfortable with their current carry options? Let's see.

With a longer grip comes increased magazine capacity: The main complaint at the debut of the G43 a few years ago focused on the number of rounds with close-range guns. The 10 + 1 loadout takes the GLOCK 43X (G43X) and GLOCK 48 (G48) safe from a personal protection/backup pistol to a compact defensive pistol. Factory and aftermarket baseplates, if any, should add two more rounds. The standard baseplates are similar to the new Gen 5 baseplates with a little extra height on the leading edge. The mags also have a high visibility orange follower.

Glock 43x Suppressor

Glock 43x Suppressor

The added length of 0.75 inches on the G43 (0.83 inches on the G26) makes both pistols comfortable and easy to hold. The lack of finger grooves, a recent throwback to the Gen 1 and Gen 2 models, is a welcome feature of the 9mm slimline series. As far as I know, the frames are completely interchangeable between the G43X and G48.

Trijicon Suppressor Height Tritium Night Sights

The beveled leading edges help with holstering and forward slide serrations help with Deniro-esque press checks and tactical manipulations. And I'm usually not a fan of two-tone guns, but the new silver glasses are starting to grow on me the more time I spend with these guns.

Typical of the Austrian power plant manufacturer, incremental updates/changes/additions may seem a little lacking in a first pass. But the usefulness of each gun is greater than the sum of their parts. These slimline silver pistols hold and shoot comfortably and safely. My only wish is that I had a holster handy so I could actually carry one as an EDC piece for a week or so to give you a better idea of the usability. (I'm betting on which company will release the first G48 and G43X holsters).

Rather than read into my boring rant, let's look at a pictorial comparison of the new slimline pistols against the original G43.

I have no doubt that GLOCK will sell a ton of new slimline 9mm pistols. And rightfully so: these are compact weapons with classic GLOCK reliability. In my opinion, this is a necessary (and expected) addition to the gunmaker's line.

Glock 43x 9mm Pistol

For me, the GLOCK 43X has a very good chance of replacing my G26 workhorse. Stay tuned for more reviews and scopes on the Silver Slimline pistols in the coming weeks.

SMYRNA, Ga. – January 2, 2019 Today, GLOCK, Inc announced two additions to the GLOCK pistol family. The GLOCK 43X and GLOCK 48 have a Slimline series design with a silver color and are perfect for everyday use. Both pistols chambered in 9X19 have a compact Slimline frame with a silver nPVD finish and a 10-round magazine capacity, making it ideal for concealed carry.

These pistols include elements of the Slimline series, such as a short trigger distance, a built-in beavertail frame, a reversible magazine catch, and the incredibly accurate, match-grade GLOCK Marksman Barrel (GMB). The GLOCK 43X and GLOCK 48 also have precision-milled front lugs. Both models are available in three vision configurations; standard, GLOCK Night Sights (GNS) and Ameriglo BOLD.

Good day dear readers. Welcome to Silencer Saturday, where the only good barrel is a threaded barrel. Today we will stay a little with a quick look at the fun of owning restricted pocket pistols - especially the GLOCK 43 with the Thompson Machine Poseidon. Fortunately, the weather is better here in God's country - which means it's time to look for reviews and photos from outside instead of white backgrounds.

I often describe the disease Silencerosis as a kind of evolution. New buyers focus on the absolute quietest setup, while veteran owners look to suppress every gun they own with a mission-ready* suppressor, even if it means sacrificing decibels for a smaller package. The GLOCK 43 is nowhere near the smallest suppressable pocket pistol, but I've been looking for a perfectly sized 9mm suppressor—the Poseidon from Thompson Machine fits all my G43 needs.

* A "mission" can be anything from possible defense situations or pure entertainment. You don't need to be 007 to enjoy small suppressors. Restricted Pocket Pistols - GLOCK 43 and Thompson Machine Poseidon

Glock 43x Suppressor

The beauty of most microcans is that they usually do not require a booster (Nielsen unit) to help cycle breech-loading handguns. This saves weight, cost and most importantly length in an attempt to create the smallest restrictive package possible. You will need a threaded barrel though: I bought the SilencerCo barrel from Brownells here.

The Thompson Poseidon is a hybrid muffler that uses a short monocore baffle system followed by a rubber exhaust. The wiper is good for about 40-100 rounds before needing to be replaced, but the beauty of a hybrid that can have a monocore is that you can continue shooting without using a wipe, with reducing the suppression level.

Pictured above: The Black Panther Titanium Micro Blade from SMRT Gadget is a ridiculously sharp little knife. It also has a tight pocket clip and a dedicated glass breaker. I'm not much of a blade junkie, but the Black Panther fits perfectly into my EDC routine. Please consider supporting their Indiegogo campaign here - there are only a few days left before the big launch.

At just 4.125" x 1.25" diameter and a featherweight of 3.8 oz, the Poseidon offers sound attenuation comparable to industry-leading mufflers twice its size and weight. Using artificial environment and wiping technology with a proprietary mono-baffle stack, the Poseidon has a unique design that helps seal the end user's chosen ablative medium until the suppressor is used; thus eliminating a major disadvantage of wet suppressors. In other words, your ablative medium won't run out of your pocket! As an additional selling point, the Thompson Machine Poseidon is also a true multi-caliber suppressor and is very quiet in .22lr, .25acp, .32acp, 9x18mm and .380acp host weapons. The Poseidon is easily and completely disassembled for cleaning and includes the necessary disassembly tools at no additional cost. The Poseidon 9mm is available in 1/2-28, 1/2-36 or 13.5x1LH thread patterns.

Suppressors like the Poseidon work best when wet (using an ablative medium to slow and cool the expanding gases). I owe you all an ablative media comparison, but right now I prefer Inland Manufacturing's dB Foam for the sole reason that it tends to stay inside the muffler instead of coming out the nose. Filling Poseidon with dB Foam lasts approx

Costa Ludus visuals include a distinctive nighttime Fission Perfect Dot® on the front sight and a horizontal triangular stripe on the background. Served with a low-gloss finish, their moderate height stays out of your way to give a low profile. The Costa Ludus Terrain was designed under the direction of Chris Costa, who has an extensive background with the US Coast Guard and as a gunnery instructor. These attractions have many unique features that differentiate them from other night attractions. Most notably, the front and rear sights have a flickering effect. At the leading edge of the background, another manual control should be applied to the maximum. The Costa Ludus scenery includes a private night Fission Perfect Dot® in the foreground and a horizontal triangle in the background. The tritium rod allows the shooter to clearly distinguish front and rear sights in low light conditions. The background is also cropped and zooms in on the target image for quick purchases.

Glock 43x Suppressed - Good afternoon, dear readers. Welcome to Silencer Saturday, where the only good barrel is a threaded barrel. Today we're going to get into the anecdote and look at the joys of owning a defensive gun—especially the GLOCK 43 with the Thompson Machine Poseidon. Thank goodness the weather is improving here in God's Country, which means it's time to review and Take photos outdoors instead of white.

I tend to describe the Silencerosis problem as evolutionary. New buyers focus on the quietest possible setup. While older owners look to stop every gun they own with a suitable suppressor*, even if that means sacrificing decibels for a smaller package, the GLOCK 43 isn't even close to a full-sized pistol. * "Work" can be anything from self-defense or recreational purposes. You don't have to be a 007 to have fun with this little pedal, push-pull pistol—the GLOCK 43 and the Thompson Machine Poseidon.

The advantage of most smaller cans is that they usually do not require reinforcement (Nielsen tools) to assist in tilting the revolver. This saves weight, cost and length, which is very important when you are trying to create the smallest compression package. You need a threaded barrel: I bought a SilencerCo barrel from Brownells here.

The Thompson Poseidon is a hybrid silencer that uses a small device followed by a single sweep. Wiping is good for 40-100 cycles before needing to be replaced. But hybrid beauties can have a monocore. And you can continue shooting only without cleanup and slow down.

Pictured above: The Black Panther Titanium Micro Blade by SMRT Gadget is an embarrassing little campaign. It also has a sturdy pocket clip and a dedicated glass breaker. I'm not a blade fanatic, but the Black Panther fits nicely into my EDC routine. Consider supporting their Indiegogo campaign now - just a few days left before it opens.

Measuring 4.125 inches long and 1.25 inches in diameter and weighing a feather light 3.8 ounces, the Poseidon provides the same level of compression as an industry-leading suppressor at twice its size and weight. By using design and polishing technology together with mono baffles. The Poseidon has a unique design that keeps it sealed in the user's evaporative form until the suppressor is applied. So it solves the main problem of wet proof. In other words, your distribution materials will never end up in your pocket! As an additional selling point, the Thompson Machine Poseidon is also a versatile and silent defensive handgun with .22lr, .25acp, .32acp, 9x18mm and .380acp ammunition. The Poseidon melts easily and thoroughly for cleaning. The Poseidon 9mm is available in 1/2-28, 1/2-36 or 13.5x1LH threads.

The Warrior Glocks

Compressors like Poseidon work best when wet. (using media to reduce and cool the air) I owe you the radio analogy. But right now, I love Inland Manufacturing's dB Foam. For the sole reason it tends to sit in the silencer instead of the mouthpiece. Filling the Poseidon with dB Foam takes about 12 cycles. Compression decreases with each shot.

Of course, polishing tires takes some time. But it's better than you think. Unfortunately, the ATF considers the wipers to be part of the muffler. Therefore, it is technically not allowed to replace it yourself. But any FFL can order replacement wipers from Thompson and have them installed for you in less than a minute.

I love Federal Premium Syntech compressed air rifles—they're clean and quiet. Both low-barreled but extremely long, the Hydra-Shok is a high-quality round. But it is ideal for the G43 as a personal defense round.

The Poseidon monocore has three chambers, enough to silence a subsonic device with a few bottles of liquid or foam.

The G43 also gets an upgraded sight from XS Sights. The new F8 Sights are bright, practical. and easy to install. Brownells are in stock here.

When you use the right materials, less blasting and new cleaning cloths, the Thompson Poseidon is as quiet as any silencer. Small, light and easy to maintain. above all When paired with a compact pocket pistol, It's great fun in a small package.

Glock 43x Suppressed

Want to see your own connector or NFA compatible at Silencer Saturday? Send us a message: [email protected] TFB is ready to unleash the ultimate truth this holiday season. Filled with animated movies and fantasy, GLOCK is introducing two new Slimline pistols—the GLOCK 43X and the long-slide GLOCK 48—aimed at the market every day. Obviously, these guns focus on narrow frames and slides. This makes concealed carry easier compared to smaller or full-sized handguns. But what else do these new pistols have in the latest GLOCK that will transform shooters who are comfortable with today's carry? Let's see.

Glock 43 X Omega 9k

Long handle comes with magazine capacity: The main complaint with the G43 when it was introduced a few years ago was its emphasis on close-range numbers. The 10+1 takes the GLOCK 43X (G43X) and the GLOCK 48. (G48) From a self-defense/backup pistol to a safe self-defense handgun. The factory rest and the commercial rest should add two more rounds. The standard baseplate is slightly reminiscent of the new Gen 5 steel at the edge. The mag also has a highly visible orange follower.

An additional 0.75 inches in height over the G43 (0.83 inches over the G26) makes both guns comfortable and easy to grip. lack of finger grooves which is the latest feature of the Gen 1 and Gen 2 models, is a welcome addition to the Slimline 9mm series as far as I am aware. The frame is interchangeable between the G43X and G48.

Leading margins help with summaries, and lead slides allow for deniro-style media commentary and smart editing. And I don't usually like two-tone guns. But the new silver image Reminds me of when I used these guns.

It is well known for the Austrian electronics manufacturer. Changes/adaptations/additions may seem brainless at first glance. But the value of any gun is greater than the sum of its parts. These silver slimline guns are comfortable and safe to handle and shoot. My one wish is that I have a holster so that I can carry it as an EDC for a week or longer so you have a better idea.
